Chile – VAT Update

Chile has decided to impose VAT collections obligations on non-resident providers of electronic services to consumers. It has now approved a new law which will require VAT registrations for foreign sellers of streaming media, apps,  e-books, gaming, e-learning, SaaS and most internet-based services. This will come into effect in beginning  of May 2020. The current VAT rate in Chile is 19%.
