    Sri Lanka’s Increased VAT Rate From 1st November


    The Ministry of Finance in Sri Lanka announced that the standard rate of VAT would be increased from 11% to 15% with effect from 1st November 2016.
    In addition VAT has also been imposed on cigarettes, liquor, telephone services, electrical equipment, perfumes, jewelry, powdered milk, consultation fees of doctors and hospital room charges as well.
