We view VAT in terms of costs and obligations to be effectively managed. Unlike some advisors, we do not view the VAT field as a high altitude “profession”, nor do we view advice as an art form. If you come to us for advice we will tell you what we think, in a manner that is clear and simple. We will never charge you for advice you can’t understand because we think that’s not good advice.

Our partner network consists of people with whom we’ve worked over many years; we know them and trust them. Our key role is to help businesses deal with their VAT obligations in the most effective way, as well as reduce their costs where it is reasonably possible to do so within the law. To do this effectively we guard our good reputation with the fiscal authorities with whom we deal. We do not advise on aggressive VAT avoidance and we do not sell “schemes”. Nor do we assist in defending any criminal or civil cases where dishonesty has been involved. There are other advisors who fill those spaces, we respect their skills and leave this field to them.

Bill is a highly experienced consultant and having been working in the Indirect Tax field since 1989. He began his career with the UK VAT authorities, then spent over 10 years as a “Big 4” VAT advisor, specialising in the emerging markets of Central & Eastern Europe.
Since 2002, Bill has specialised in assisting multinational companies with the practicalities of cross-border VAT compliance and risk management and has worked for companies including JP Morgan, GSK, Shell, Sony, Commerzbank and Royal Bank of Scotland.
He has particular expertise in the areas of cross-border transactions, financial services, VAT compliance process management and risk management. Bill’s personal passion is for travel in the Arctic and Antarctic and in 2015 he successfully skied from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole.
Dino has spent the past 9 years working as a specialist in the international VAT sector. He is highly skilled at negotiating new business as well as driving the successful implementation of efficient international VAT recovery & compliance structures for SME, Blue Chip as well as multinational companies across the globe.
Dino has in the past negotiated big new business contracts from scratch with internationally recognised brands such as HSBC Bank (Global Account), Innocent Drinks (Europe), Ingersoll Rand (Europe), Samsung(Europe), Wolters Kluwer (Europe), Ralph Lauren (Europe), BE Aerospace (Global), Conrad Electronic(Europe) as well as many many others. Dino is also responsible for driving strategic international marketing initiatives for Essentia, as well as managing a team of senior business development specialists whose responsibilities include initiating new client relationships. Dino also heads the strategic alliance division who specialise in formulating mutually beneficial joint ventures with internationally recognised consultancy and advisory firms across the world.
Nick has worked in Indirect Tax since 1997 in a career spanning the globe. He started his career at Ernst & Young in the UK and then worked for a number of years for KPMG based out of their Sydney office covering the Asia and Pacific region.
In addition to this Nick spent over a decade in industry, five years of which he was The Global Head of VAT for GlaxoSmithKline.
Nick specialises in cross border transactions, compliance, risk management, acquisitions and disposals. He has worked extensively in the Pharmaceutical, Consumer, Oil, Gas and Retail sectors.
With over 9 years corporate tax experience with KPMG, Rachel has an in-depth knowledge of compliance, reporting and advisory across industries from mid-market small enterprises through to large corporates including financial services, including Lloyds’ market syndicates.
She has also worked in New Zealand and undertaken secondments at a range of clients implementing tax process redesign and planning strategies.
Following successful completion of an MBA at Imperial College Business School, Rachel worked ‘in-house’ at Bank of America Merrill Lynch to implement leasing tax compliance and the new rules for international mobile employee share scheme relief.
Rachel brings an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to business, working diligently to create change in challenging environments, through effective problem-solving capabilities grounded in high technical ability to add value to client engagements.
Ali is a Senior Customs Expert who has more than 15 years experience in advising and ‘in house’ managing of customs affairs in different industries for international organizations. Ali has a solid knowledge of all aspects of import/ export customs compliance strategies, planning, duty optimisation opportunities, and the implementation of different customs and export compliance programs. In his previous roles he managed ‘in house’ customs brokerage teams and successfully implemented Special Regimes, Bonded Warehousing, AEO and Export Control and Sanctions programs in the steel, construction machinery and consumer electronics industry.
Furthermore, Ali participated in a project team within GlaxoSmithKline in London UK which has successfully launched a Global Customs Duty Management Service for the organization.
Ali has a good understanding of the Customs impact and risks of global supply chains and how businesses should deal with customs compliance in an international environment.
Kim is a highly experienced Dutch VAT-consultant and has been working in the Indirect Tax field since 2000. She started her career as a “Big 4” VAT advisor in the Netherlands, where she spent over 8 years in the VAT department working for national and multinational clients and took part of the internal scientific office department. Afterwards, Kim spent a few years at a small office, specialized in VAT for real-estate and municipalities.
Kim has a very wide range of VAT experience, such as cross-border transactions, VAT compliance as well as real estate, applying VAT rates and the travel agent margin scheme. Apart from advisory and compliance, she is also active as an author for several Dutch publishers of professional information. Kim’s personal passions are skydiving, playing waterpolo and drawing realistic portraits.
Peter Ferrigno is a non-executive Advisor to Essentia Global Services. Peter has more than 25 years of tax experience, originally with Arthur Andersen and later as a Partner at Ernst & Young. Peter spent eight years in Poland with Andersen in the 1990’s, where he originally moved to take responsibility for the development of VAT services when the country introduced VAT in 1993.
Later on he specialised in other taxes, and was part of EY’s EMEIA Tax Practice leadership team between 2002 and 2012.
Peter’s role is to advise Essentia in the development of other taxes beyond VAT, to assist the board, and to advise clients on the interaction of different taxes in complex transactions across jurisdictions.
Mohamad has over 20 years of professional experience with expertise in business practices, business process analysis and mapping and strategy. Amongst others, Mohamad acts as a subject matter expert for some leading international management consulting firms.
His industry expertise spans across diverse sectors, including: the Public sector, Property Development & Real Estate, Family Business Groups, Automotive & Heavy Equipment’s, Retail, Manufacturing and Consulting. His experiences include working for Deloitte, Dubai Civil
Aviation and Al-Futtaim Group.
Mohamad holds a Master’s degree in Business Management with HR specialization from American University of Lebanon.

Jonathon has worked in the financial services and FinTech arena for over 15 years creating successful partnerships within the world of foreign currency, accounting and international VAT. He has been responsible for driving international strategic partnerships with many recognised bands such as: Royal Bank of Canada, N M Rothschild & Sons, Thomson Reuters, Credit Suisse, London Stock Exchange, Clifford Chance, Deloitte as well as many others. After spending six years with PwC, during which he was admitted to the Chartered Institute of Tax. He has developed a widespread client base and his portfolio includes international companies, land and property specialists, educational establishments, charities, and niche markets such as golf clubs. Gary’s strengths lie in working closely with clients to identify their issues then providing the specialist knowledge to deliver long-term solutions.
Michalis is a Tax Accountant-Auditor as well as business consultant who has a wealth of experience working with SME, blue-chip as well as multinational companies across the world providing technical VAT and Tax compliance advice as well as advising and implementing a full range of VAT & Tax compliance services covering the EU market. Michalis also has acquired a Mba In Business Administration.
