    Online market places – UK budget update


    The Chancellor has announced measures to counter the growing problem of VAT fraud facilitated by ‘online marketplaces’. The measures will make online marketplaces jointly and severally liable for any VAT due along with the forced appointment of a UK VAT representative.

    The aim is to remove the significant number of non-VAT registered traders that operate through the online market places and undercut the competition by not charging VAT where due.
